In the small and beautiful island of Mauritius, located in the Indian Ocean, more than a dozen languages are in use, Urdu being one of them since the last decade of the eighteenth century. This article studies the Urdu publications and journals being published in Mauritius. Availability of Urdu manuscripts is also mentioned and an important unpublished manuscript is introduced.
